Cutting Process
This is the entire cutting process with the Rose design. I cut the bookmarks from basswood or balsa wood sheet that are 1/16th inch thick.
I draw the design, then trace it onto the bookmark blank with graphite paper, then I cut the design.
After the first design is cut, I use it as a stencil to make more bookmarks.
Coloring & Finishing
This is the coloring and finishing process with the Rose design.
I use UV resin with color pigments to color the designs, then I use clear UV resin for the final gloss finish.
Each bookmark has a simple blue hemp string tassel, leaving you with the option to change it to any tassel you would like, or keep the simple blue tassel.
Gradient Cutting
A simple design that's not so simple to cut.
Gradient Coloring
It's a total blast to color, though.
Gradient Finish
I'm constantly trying to find better ways to execute the finishing process.
Sunset
This is my first design and still one of my favorites, I hope you like it!
Sunset Color
So many options.
Zigzag
I was messing with a triangle-shaped stencil thinking of different colors to fill and this was the result. It’s more difficult to cut but I think it’s worth it, and if I break a piece it’s still beautiful.
Zigzag Color
These are both in the cognac stain, it’s a nice contrast with the bright colors.
Blue Wave
The traditional Japanese pattern Seigaiha which means “waves of the blue sea” or “blue ocean waves”, it symbolizes peacefulness, quiet strength, and good luck.
Blue Wave Coloring
Cognac stain with blue-green UV resin coloring.
California Poppy
One of my favorite flowers because I was born in California.

Mountain Sunrise Wood & Resin Bookmark
This has a different cut than the Mountain Sunrise wooden bookmark, it is not cut to stand on wood alone, it is meant to hold lots of color.
