American Dogwood Wood & Resin Glow Light Box - Rosewood

There's a lot of wood going on here. American Dogwood carved into a basswood box, rosewood stain. It's also the state flower for Virginia, where my loving boyfriend is from, and dogwood is one of my favorite flowers, so it made sense to make a box. 

I hand cut each design into these wooden boxes that I cut and assemble. I wanted to bring the designs to life with color and light, capturing the mood of each design in a new way. A small LED inside casts a soft glow, powered by two replaceable AAA batteries that lasts approximately 50 hours of continuous use.
